The Chronicles of Barcelona, Part XIII – Thoughts

I rather like traveling alone.

It’s quiet, and you have to be just a smidge more careful, since there’s no one watching your back (though you can never be too sure your travel companions are doing that in the first place). But there are its advantages.

  1. You make more friends. (In my experience, anyway.)
  2. Less pressure to do things you don’t want to do, more pressure to do things you do.
  3. You get to eat whatever you want.
  4. You won’t feel bad for talking to people online.
  5. Listening to your iPod isn’t construed as a social no-no.
  6. It’s quieter.

I always wonder about the other people I see traveling alone.

And then I make up stories about them and infringe on their imaginary alternate-universe privacies.
